After all the fun and games of trying to get the washer fixed here, they finally got it. Though not without being more irritating.
The service tech came back out and after swearing at the machine for some more evaluating the trouble further, and calling some other tech people for input, discovered it wasn't the main module after all, it was a different module. And that module was one kept in stock and available from a parts house just over a mile away, within walking distance if you were desperate. The module was picked up, installed, and we are back in business.
We are glad to have the machine back up and running, but not happy with the overall competence of the service group, their coordination of services, and customer call handling. Sears needs to do some work within this area.
I hope it stays fixed for a while.
Fixed (finally) happens.
