They used the application to "map" a route from "Point A" to "Point B". *So far, so good.*
They were walking. *Good exercise, smart move.*
The route took them next to a busy road (the report says "highway", but whatever).
With limited,to no, sidewalk. *What possibly could go wrong here?*
They got hit by a vehicle. *Lions and tigers and cars, Oh, my!*
Now, here is where it gets interesting. They want to sue the company behind this application for supplying them with a dangerous route, NOT warning them of the potential danger and lack of sidewalks, and not offering a "safer" alternative route (on the phone).
REALLY? You think there might not be an issue walking next to a busy street, with "limited, to no", sidewalk? Couldn't they SEE where the sidewalk ends? (apologies to Shel Silverstein) (I know...they slept through "Traffic Dodging - 101" in pre-school.)
This person was NOT a child either. They were an adult. I learned at an early age to pay attention to conditions and traffic. Even, or maybe, ESPECIALLY in an unfamiliar area, I would be extremely mindful of the surroundings and PAY ATTENTION!
My Mom taught me better. Their mom, better have a good attorney. I have a feeling after they get done with the "direction" service, they will be going after "Dear 'Ol Mom" for failing to teach them to NOT play in traffic.
Then again, due to another Darwin Award runner up, all our coffee cups now say, "CAUTION: CONTENTS HOT!" And I thought everyone used COLD water to make coffee.
Directionally and mentally challenged happens.
I am just speechless - and I thought the coffee suite was stupid!

Duh! I am constantly amazed by the level of stupidity that seems to surround us. (Love the post tho)
