With luck, the economy will do something in an upward direction soon.
Short version...Dudette's hours have been crazy due to the goings on at her place. Converting most of the HR, Payroll, and Benefits to an HRO has been keeping her running like a crazy person. And, it looks like even after the switch, the parts of the program she is keeping, will still keep her running.
My place? Well,...with staff reductions in ALL departments, and increases in product lines and demand, there is more work than the original staff could have kept up with. Our marching orders are, "do more, with less".
Somehow, the whole concept of, "with 5 'items' being a 'TOP PRIORITY', which ones DON'T you want checked?", isn't soaking through. Guys, in case you hadn't noticed, there are only so many hours in a day. When you drop five, 6 hour projects on a person, and need them all done that day, trust me, something ain't getting done.
Bringing up the "Bottom Line" by reducing staff in situations like this, must make sense to somebody. Probably the person who doesn't have to actually DO the work.
Oh, well.
So, even though myhours haven't really increased, the stress levels have. And with Dudette working insane hours, I am doing more around the house (or at least trying to). So, she is wiped out from the stress and hours, and I am pretty much toast most nights.
Hence, the promise of more posts has been shot in the wazoo. Not only is there a lack of time, but also a lack of ambition. Too tired to type and not much to share. I'm not even reading many of the blogs I normally hit every day. If I'm good, I hit them once a week. And if I'm really lucky, I return e mails within a week.
But at least we both still have jobs. That's a good thing.
Tired happens.
Sorry to hear of your family losses. May be expected but it still hurts. Hope you break the cycle and don't get the third!
Busy, busy, busy! You both need to take care of yourselves. I enjoy reading your posts and understand if they aren't as frequent as I'd like! :-)
