If you aren't into Pink Floyd and "The Wall", this won't make much sense.
We had a nasty set of storms pass through the other day. They were to the South and East, and I had a lovely view of the thunderhead growing. Nothing more majestic than watching the clouds grow and billow, being drawn skyward by the updraft and swelling the anvil. The movement of the clouds on the side walls, adds to the appreciation of the incredible amount of power being generated.
As the sun beat on the back wall of the clouds, it added more heat and power to the already HUGE super-cell. And while watching the cloud wall boil and roll, I watched it create an unusual shape. (this is where only the PF and The Wall folk will catch the image).
For those familiar with the video/film of The Wall, there are animated scenes where a white face and clenched fists are generated out of thin air; a "morphing" sequence. That happened in this cloud wall.
Watching the roiling motion of the wall, slowly a huge face took shape with what looked like clenched fists to either side. Unlike the screaming face in the video/film, this one was closed mouthed, but still, fully a face and fists. Very distinct. One of those few moments in life where you would give almost anything to have a decent camera in your hands.
I knew, due to the movement of the clouds, that this would only last a few moments, so I didn't even bother trying to run and grab my digital. I simply stood and watched in awe as it maintianed for almost a full minute, before slowly dissolving into the white, fluffy, nothingness of a storm cloud.
Amazing are the surprises that pop up when you least expect them.
I think it was Shel Silverstein or Dr. Seuss that wrote, "Oh, the things you will see."
Seeing happens.
I think you need to stop doing the same drugs as PF and The Wall!
