let's see...where to start. How about...
starting with the next day, Wednesday. On the 4th, after Dudette and I spent time together in the morning. I headed out to give the truck a really good washing, and Dudette headed out to do some household shopping. Of course when I woke up, it was nice and overcast, cool, and with a chance for more thunderstorms. Not a bad combination for washing a vehicle.
By the time we both headed out, the clouds broke up, the sun came out, and things heated up VERY quickly. I baked my brains out tackling the truck. But it needed it in a bad way.
I finished in time to help haul in all the spoils of the shopping adventure. After putting everything away, I took a shower and cooled off a bit before heading back out and attacking the truck again. This time, to wax it. It needed it just as badly as the cleaning.
While I was slobbering the wax on, Dudette played in the kitchen, making several dinners that all we had to do was heat up and they were ready. She also made chocolate chip cookies. But not too many. Seems we were almost out of chocolate chips. (how we managed to let that happen, is anybodies guess. after all, we're ALL chip freaks in the house)
Dudette finished and came out as I was taking the wax off the truck. She helped me buff a fair amount of it off. After working on the lawn and mower stuff Monday, then the house on Tuesday, my shoulders had just about had it, so I really appreciated the help.
By the time we ate and cleaned up, it was way dark outside and the neighbors were having a fantastic time breaking all the fireworks ordinances. I was rather impressed and enjoyed the shows. Then the heavens opened and the rain that had been threatening all day decided to dump on us. Mother Nature had to get her pyrotechnic show in as well, using lightning and thunder.
Funny thing, it didn't slow down the people on the ground from setting off their stuff. Can't say I remember the last time I enjoyed fireworks in the rain. Especially SHOT in the rain.
Shows happen.
