This has been a tiring week so far for Dudette and myself. Not only are her hours long (she is riding in with me in the morning, which means getting up earlier than she is used to) but, she is missing her assistant (out on medical). So even though she should be getting done with work about the same time as I do, she now has the other work to do as well.
Most days, I just head home and she calls me to let me know when she is done. That can be hours after I get home.
The other day, with rain in the near future, I decided to mow the lawn while waiting for her. When I was done, I called and asked if she wanted me to pick her up all nasty and sweaty, or after my shower? "After the shower!!", was the preferred situation. By the time I was clean, I figured I had enough time to pick up the house a little. Then I took off after her.
I tried to call at a couple lights along the way to let her know I was on my way. No answer. I left her a message telling her I would call again from the parking lot to let her know I was there.
About a block from her work, I see this figure walking down the side of the road. Yep, it was none other than Dudette.
She said she was at a good stopping place and didn't want to rush me, so she just started walking.
Now that's tired, and ready to come home. Willing to walk to get out of there.
As for myself, I got buried under stuff at work several times in the past couple days. Enough stuff showed up today, all of it "HOT", that my boss is sending over some help to help me clear most of it up. At least 6 semi's of material showed up above and beyond the normal load. With everything that showed up, all the available floor space is gone. The guys didn't even have the time to put any of it up before more arrived.
And of course, about 75% of it is stuff I have to check before it can be put away. And the majority of it, didn't start showing up until lunch time. Nice to get flooded with only a couple hours left in the day. And I already had better than a full days worth of work to do without the extra.
Not to worry, it will get done. But there has been no rest for the wicked.
Shipments and illness happens.
Sounds like Murphy's Law at work, to me, WDude.
I hope you both have the weekend off. Even if you have stuff to do at home, the variety should be refreshing.

Isn't that just how it is, Summer comes along and life is supposed to slow down so you can enjoy it. But then comes along all the overtime (or extra work anyway).
