While waiting for Dudette to finish up some stuff at her work this week, I spent my time staring out the window in her office.
It faces into a field. All kinds of wild life and birds find their way into that field as the only thing to disturb them is a horse or two that are kept back there. And a rustic wooden fence acts as the corral for the horses. Very peaceful.
As I stood watching out the window, a squirrel came bounding down the fence top. Nothing unusual about this. Except...this guy looked like Santa Claus. Big bushy grey/white beard covered his face. ???? (drugs...shouldn't have grown up in the '60's...no wait...didn't do drugs...so, WTF?!?!)
When he got closer, I could see it was a HUGE pile of dried grass in his mouth. And, as if to help me regain my sanity (now there's a stretch), he stopped right in front of the window to tighten up the load. Both hand stuffing and jaws working to reposition the wad he had. Once satisfied it wasn't going to shift again, off he went down the fence.
Wonder where he plans on building that nest?
Nature happens.
