Dudette looks to finally have hired another person for her department at work. Which is good.
Now for the bad news.
She really needs TWO people, but one will work for now. It is just her and her assistant, who is doing benefit stuff. And the way things have been expanding, they are both swamped. So, the extra person is a big help. But they won't be on board for another week or two.
And, just as her stress level was dropping, her assistant called at home today. She is in the hospital. Getting ready for surgery. And will be out for (hopefully) only a short time (like, a couple days to a week).
In the meantime, Dudette is on her own. An Army of One. When what she really needs is an army of four.
She will enlist and drag in her co-workers when things get nasty though. One thing I will give to her work group, when the going get tough, they ALL chip in.
What I wouldn't give to work there, or to have a group like that at my place.
Stress, but support, happens.
Please give Dudette, and her assistant, my sympathy! We'll hope assistant has an uneventful surgery and that they are back to full speed in no time. At least she does work at a place where folks pitch in and help - isn't always the case!
