CHOO!
It's that time of year again. Everything is growing and blooming. Including the lawn and my sinuses.
I wouldn't have thought it was so close to the mowing season, but after a bunch of rain earlier this week, the lawn was starting to look a bit shaggy. So I headed for the garage today to get all my favorite implements of destruction up and running.
First I sharpened the blade on the mower. Then I put cleaner in the tank and topped it off with fresh gas. From there, I hit up the trimmer. Neither took too long as I prepped them before wintering them.
The lawn however, had other ideas.
Even standing on it, it didn't appear to be that full. Or that wet.
I guess that with cooler temps this week, the grass was still pretty plumped up from the rain. Once I got started, I realized it was going to be slow going. And it was.
But the first mowing of the year is over and the lawn looks much better.
Now all I have to do is calm down my allergy irritated sinuses and let my sore muscles get used to manhandling the equipment again.
The prices we pay.
Growth happens.
