Friends of ours held their annual Christmas party this past weekend. (ever wonder why they call it an annual party? when it can only happen once a year. Like, we have one in July just to mess folk up. Right?)
Anyway, it was a blast. Bunches of people showed up and there was good times and fun by all. The coolest part was the gift exchange. White elephant style.
Some of the gifts got stolen several times before finally settling on one owner. And the whole exchange lasted over an hour. Not surprising as there were 43 numbers in the hat. And only the people that brought gifts could pull numbers. That should give you an idea how big this party was.
Though the house was fairly full, there was food was on the tables all night long. Not only did they make a bunch for the guests, but the guests know to bring more. One way to ensure that the parties continue. Being a gracious guest.
Before the night was over (at least for Dudette and myself) a guitar and the piano got brought into play. Not that there was great music flowing, more like fun and play involved. You would really have to be there to enjoy the whole scene.
Lots of fun and worth looking forward to every year.
Parties happen.
I'm guessing that White Elephant is the same as a Yankee Swap?
