L and C came to the Winefest while visiting "b". L and b have been friends for ever and this visit was part of a yearly "girls vacation". L and C did a good job of fitting right in with our crowd, even though it was a group of mostly "company friends". And they brought their own stories to tell. Most of which involved b.
The one to tell was of a trip the L and b took. "b" was telling us, with L adding in finer details, about going to a salon together. Each getting "dolled up" with haircuts and styling, make-up, massages, steam room, the whole salon thing.
Each time b asked how she looked, L would tell her "fantastic". From the salon, they went out wandering around taking in the sites since they were visiting another city (I think San Francisco). And they enjoyed a wonderful lunch at an open-air cafe. "b" said she was getting a bit fidgety because she was getting "looks" from people. L told her they were taken by her "new" look and were jealous.
When they got back to their hotel, b said she finally got in front of a mirror and just about died. Her hair was all pushed up and looked like a birds nest that had been out in a storm. Plus, the make-up had her looking like a crazed and rabid ferret, with red lipstick so far out of place she could have auditioned for Ringling bros. as a clown.
And she looked like this the whole time they were out carousing the town and eating.
After carrying on about how she looked, L looked at her and said, "well, you looked pretty good before the hot-oil massages and steam room. I wasn't going to ruin it for you."
Don't you just love a good friend?
Above and beyond that though, L and C run a business setting up tours to different tourist traps.
And L runs a business with her husband that is a real treat. This part is about her and the business. The business is about cookie cutters, cookies, recipes and other accessories. We've checked out her site and it is WAY COOL. Click on the link and check out Kitchen Gifts. You won't be sorry.
Next stop, the drive home.
Friends happen.
