MAN, WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?

I can't remember the last time my schedule was so screwed up.  Really.

The last time I did a stint on 2nd, it didn't seem this jacked up.  Yeah, the "times" were strange, but there was some semblance of routine.  And I feel it mostly, here.  (the lack of routine and being screwed up that is)

Not much time at night, or in the morning, to post.  Plus with the lack of social interaction with the rest of the family, not a whole lot to spark an interest.

A VISIT AND DINNER

Dudette, CK and I went to visit Cop Car today.  It was a visit, and then out to dinner.  What could go wrong with that?

Well...glad you asked.  Of all the male members in the immediate family, I was the only representative present.   Hmmmmmm...can you say conspiracy, boys and girls?  The others left me as the sacrifice, seemed like anyways.

Not so.

LET THE O.T. BEGIN

We start overtime again at work this week.  There is going to be a big conversion to the computer system and they have to shut the whole thing down for a couple days.  So to prepare for the lack of output, we have to build up our stores ahead of time.

I expect to put in some long hours after the conversion as well to make up for any deficit we encounter during the shutdown.

Oh, joy.

Overtime happens.

A MINI-GRIPE

Normally, I have a natural second shift circadian-rhythm.  Going to the night shift didn't bother me (except at home).  This time though, my bod can't make up its mind what it wants to do.  It is not a happy thing.

I get tired at the wrong times of day (for any shift), and I pep up at all the wrong times as well.  And my sleep pattern is shot as well.  One day it's 4 hours, and 9 the next.

Man, is this getting old.  Hope when I get back to first, I get over this.

Another bad side effect...I can't seem to find anything to post about most days.  Even when a lot of stuff happens.  And that's just wrong.

THE DRIVE HOME

The drive home from the Winefest was fairly uneventful, no deer, antelope, or wayward truckers.  I hit the cruise control, settled back and Dudette and I talked for a lot of the drive, taking in the scenery.

The scenery included a lot of billboards.  Especially as you head towards Abilene...

NOW ABOUT "L" AND "C"

L and C came to the Winefest while visiting "b".  L and b have been friends for ever and this visit was part of a yearly "girls vacation".  L and C did a good job of fitting right in with our crowd, even though it was a group of mostly "company friends".  And they brought their own stories to tell.  Most of which involved b.

The one to tell was of a trip the L and b took.  "b" was telling us, with L adding in finer details, about going to a salon together.  Each getting "dolled up" with haircuts and styling, make-up, massages, steam room, the whole salon thing.

AFTER THE WINEFEST

The finish of the Winefest went very well.  I think we tore down in record time, around 35 minutes.  I have to credit that to the help everyone gave in the tear down work.  Teamwork pays off big time.

Dudette and I retired in our room and took a short nap.  We had been invited out to dinner at a restaurant owned and run by a former employee of the main sponsor.  We were warned that it could be a long dinner, but worth it, hence the nap.

LOOKS LIKE WE'RE COVERED

Had a knock at the door today.  When I answered, there was a truck in the drive, and the guy standing at the door said he was with "ABC Roofing" and that "Jack" told him to stop by and fix a couple shingles that had blown off.

Now, I had just woken up (working the night shift will do that to you) and was still a bit fuzzy.  After about three blinks to process his comment, the guy realized he was talking to a zombie.  So he helped fill in the gaps.

And I'm sure you might not, so I'm here to tell you.  Catchy start, isn't it?

I was having problems with the printer yesterday.  Printed an e-mail and the letterhead came out all wonky.  So, I did a test print and it came out all wonky as well.  Oh-kaaay.  Time to change the print cartridge.

GOOFY SPAM

There are times when I can't help myself.  Instead of deleting a spam comment, I decided to play with it a bit.  Won't tell you what I did to mess with it, but trust me, most of it is how I received it.

Now, answer me this...why do they always pick some old, long ago post to target?  It isn't like anyone will hit on that unless there is some obscure "Gargle" search launched.

If anybody asks me about the state of our educational system today, I'll just point them to my banned IP list.  There are some of their finest graduates.
