VACATION TIME

I am on vacation for the next week.  I plan on working on the "old box" and doing some work around the house.  No traveling or other stuff; just some serious quiet time at home.

Maybe I'll get caught up on the blogs I've missed for the last couple months.  And I hope to try and get some story writing done.  Haven't written anything in a while.

With all the time we've been working, the time off is needed.  It is starting to show at work, absenteeism is up and folks are getting grouchy (yeah, even me).

IT'S A PUZZLE

Dudette was talking to her boss not too long ago.  It turns out that when her boss is traveling on business, puzzles are the "let-down" or decompression from a long day of meetings and negotiations.  And Dudette got turned on to the number one puzzle: "SUDOKU".

These are a logic "fill in the number" type puzzle.  Like a "Jumble" only with numbers.  They seem to keep Dudette occupied and she is enjoying them.

They aren't as easy as they look but they are kind of fun.  They will keep you focused once you start on them.

Figures an accountant would find playing with numbers as a fun way to relax after a hard day at work.

EYE EXAM

Went in for my annual eye exam.  I never know what to expect.  Usually I can tell when things change; sometimes I can't.

I haven't noticed any difference in my vision which usually means they are going to change my script.  That's just the way it normally works.

This time, no difference.  I checked out the same as last year.  No new glasses or getting used to the changed correction.  Not bad.  I'll take it.

Changes (don't) happen.

JUST A COUPLE OF SHORTS

(No!  Not the kind you wear.)

The lawn is greening up nicely.  Though it looks like some reseeding will have to be done, (some wash-out occurred with the storms that passed through last week).

THE LAWN

As we have been threatening to do for a while, we got the lawn done.

With all the settling that went on since having the lawn put in originally, the roller-coaster ride I went on every time I used the lawnmower finally had to end.  That and the fact that there was more Bermuda than Fescue helped with the decision making.

LONG WEEKS

With the way things are going, the next (I'm guessing) year should be pretty hectic.  Sales are crazy for my place.  Once again we are scheduled to work the weekend.

With all the overtime during the week and working Sat.'s and Sun.'s, I think it is only a matter of time before everyone gets a little tired.  But the money is good.

Sales happens.

BEEN A DOOZY OF A WEEK SO FAR

Since I mentioned that I was back, things got a little hectic.  Not bad, just busy.

AND NOW BACK TO OUR IRREGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAM

I am back (sort of) and it will be a bit before I get around to all the sites I read and try to catch up.  Between the overtime, and the computer problems, there really hasn't been much time for anything else.

Along with the box going down again, I lost the router programming for the house and Dudette has spent time down as well.  Her computer worked, she just couldn't get out.  No e-mail or Internet, so I couldn't even use "The Snail" to get around.
