OVERTIME ATTACK

As I said earlier, we are hitting into overtime.  They let us know (after working this Saturday) that we can expect the same for the next two Saturday's.  Plus, there is the possibility of working the next two Sunday's as well.

"Oh, and did we forget to tell you?  You start 9 hour shifts Monday."

So, it looks like it is going to be busy for a while at work.  There is also the rumor that this will continue for the month of September as well.

This has been a weird season.

Business happens.

A NEW RESTAURANT WE TRIED

Saturday, Dudette, CK, Chew, and myself tried a new restaurant out.  We went to the "Texas Roadhouse".  Dudette called ahead for seating, which was a good thing.  She had heard about it from several people at her work and they reccommended it.  They also told her to call ahead.  We found out why after we got there.

TRYING A LITTLE EXPERIMENT

Even though the computer is up and running (mostly), I am still having an issue with the "blue screen of death".  It has become a bit irritating.

A VISIT FROM CK

I haven't posted in a couple days as I have been kind of busy and tired from work.  Overtime is kicking in and I don't know how much I will be able to get on or if I will have that much to share.

In the meantime though...

NEW TV SHOW

I have been following (if you can call it that, as the show only has two episodes so far) a new show called "Wanted".  It is interesting, a little rough, sometimes a little crude, about a group of agents from different agencies, working together to knock out a list of top-wanted criminals.  ( not a show for the faint of heart, or easily offended by language or graphic violence shots)

The chemistry between the characters is almost as interesting as the work they do.  They fight, bicker, and zing each other, but when it is time to work; they work together.

SOME OF THE STRANGEST...

things happen when you least expect it.

Walking into work this morning I passed a truck in the lot.  The driver (whom I know) is sitting behind the wheel, listening to the radio, and shaving.  Yup, shaving.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

When was the last time you changed the hoses on your washing machine?

Now just might be the time to check them and replace them before you end up with an indoor swimming pool.

And, NO!, we didn't lose ours.  The house is still nice and dry.  But I do replace ours every 3 - 5 years just to be safe.  Don't quote me on this, but I think you should replace them every 3 years even if they don't show signs of wear.  I'll have to check on that and get back with you.

While you're waiting...when was the last time you had your fan belts checked?  HMMMM???

Schedules happen.  (so do mishaps.)

LONG WEEK

Did the work thing Saturday.  What joy.  It (if you listen to the rumors) is going to be a long Fall this year at work.  They talked about starting us on overtime on Monday but canceled it at the last minute.  (I'm guessing there was a parts issue.)  But I get the sneaky feeling we'll work again this next weekend, and if they get the parts issue solved, I see 10 hour days coming up.

Later Sat. night, Dudette and I went to the Theatre.

CONTINUED COMPUTER STUFF

The Beast is still up and running.  WOO-HOO!!

And, I talked to the shop the other day and they replaced the RAM that went South for the summer.

So I am back up to full speed and the Beast hasn't acted up since the old RAM was removed.

Sometimes, life is good.

Full power happens.

EXTENDED SEASON

Seems the seasonal flux at our work has shifted a tad.

Usually the AC season is starting to ramp down at this time of year.  Not so this year.
