BTK AND A COAT OF PAINT

For those who haven't been following the news services, they claim to have captured the notorious killer in Kansas, BTK.  He was picked up in Park City, Kansas this last Friday.

The only reason I even bring up a wrung out news item like this is that a bunch of people I work with are from Park City.

TESTING DAY

Well, I go in today for the aptitude testing.  Should be interesting to say the least.

I'll post later on the test and how I felt I did.

I am also curious how many people DON'T make it to the test.  It always happens.  And they even warned us that if you aren't on the inside when the door closes, then you are finished right then.

I plan on being early, just to be safe.  You never know when you'll get caught by a traffic light, train crossing, traffic, flat tire, whatever.  And I know exactly where I am going.

HEARD FROM HOME AND WEDDING IDEA

My little sister called today.  She was looking for information concerning CK's wedding.  Gave her the facts as they stand.  Then we talked about everything else.  Just the local family gossip.

Afterward, there was some discussion about the wedding.  Once again the comment about eloping came up.

BD GIFTIES

I know some folks will care about this, so I figure I may as well tell.

For the BD, I got the first two seasons of the TV show "Kung-Pu" with David Carrotseed.  And a promise of the third season.  WAY COOL!

Being a fan of the series, and of Carrotseed, this is stellar.  Especially since I missed a lot of the episodes.  Even the re-runs.  Between poor scheduling during the original series and not having cable to catch the re-runs, this fills a large gap for me in this particular show.

STORYBLOGGING CARNIVAL XII IS UP

For those new to this, "Storyblogging Carnival XII" is posted.

Great bit of writing happens here.  This month's Carnival seems to be a bit sparse, but it usually has a number of stories to choose from; from the very short (couple hundred words, or less), to the very long ( thousands-plus, one entry is 2,700 words of a 27,000 word novella)

Of course, I am there.  Even if I weren't, it is good reading and each story has a rating so you know approximately what kind of content is holds and how long it is ahead of time.

It's worth checking out.  That's how I got hooked to it.

Just a quick wish that everyone gets a special something from and for their special person.

Along with the card, I got Dudette some chocolate covered caramels.

And, along with the card, I got a bottle of Starschmucks Coffee Liqueur.  It's going to be a happy weekend.

Just out of curiosity, who the hell came up with the spelling of "liqueur" anyway?  It's spelled like someone just finished a bottle of the stuff before trying to say it or spell it out.

"Jocquesssshhh, how woooo you shpell lik-uo-uo-uo-urrrr?"

"Wh-ah-hell, Moon Umi, like it ish pronoon-prunown-prunnunn, (shcrew it) La-hk itsshh shaay-ed."

STORY UP. REMEMBER?

I think some people missed it.  I mentioned in a previous post that I had a new story up on Storyman.

Only one person hit the site that I can tell, so I figure the mention got missed.  It's a little peculiar, but the ending is worth it.

Yeah, I know.  So what else is new.  Right?

HAVEN'T HAD A LOT TO SAY LATELY

For being busy, I haven't had a lot to say lately.  At least nothing all that exciting to write about.  But I'll try to rehash the week.

IT JUST FIGURES

Dudette had a vacation day scheduled for Friday.  I was thinking about taking the day off as well.  It's been a while since we last played "hooky" together. ( Though I wasn't too sure if I really wanted to, afraid it might look bad considering I'm waiting on an interview and all.)

I had planned on waiting until tonight to figure out what I was going to do.
