A GLOOMY HALLOWEEN NIGHT

Here it is, Halloween night, and I will be doing the "trick or treat" stuff alone. CK is off to work and Dudette is in bed not feeling well.

I am going to lose. No second guessing about it.

Every time the door bell rings, it will disturb Dudette. The kids will love the night but it will be a trick if we do.

Oh well. It only happens once a year. Might be an early night though, it is overcast and rain is in the forecast.

Ghosts and goblins happen.

GLASSES ARE IN

Got my new glasses the other day. ALL pairs.

I like the new prescription better than the old (first, new version) one. And the tinted brazing glasses came in also. I think I'll be able to work with these.

HELPED A LADY AT WORK

As I was leaving work today, a lady from 2nd shift stopped me at the guard shack. She was kind of desperate. She asked me if I could run her home "real quick". I thought that might be an issue as her shift started in about 45 minutes.

I asked her why. (short version) Her fiance dropped her off for work after the two of them had been running errands all day. And she didn't have her steel toed shoes.

"Big deal. Wear toe taps (temporary toe covers for street shoes) for the night."

"Can't."

"Why?"

A QUANDRY SOLVED

I may, or may not, have mentioned, when I posted about the Manhattan Winefest trip, that the next day Dudette and I went on to Lawrence, then to Lenexa. Then back to Lawrence. The Lawrence trips were for internal company biz. The Lenexa trip was to install a time clock for the new badges being issued. Now every location has a badge reading time-clock for clocking in and out.

Now the quadry.

VAN HAGAR TICKET

Got my ticket for the Van Hagar concert coming in November. Dead center, half way up the "nose-bleed" section (which should put me with eyes just above the stage), and right on the aisle. Easy access to and from my seat. Just can't beat that.

I'll have to pick up the new CD and check it out before the show. Give me a feel for how they sound. I hope the chemistry is still there, Sammy, Eddie, Alex and Michael had such a good all around sound and fit, it would be a shame if they lost it.

Even lost, it should be a good show, even if they only showcase their individual contributions.

Can't wait.

Good shows happen.

SAD STORY, TIMES TWO

Though the story is one of recovery and perseverance, it is still sad. So is the editing done on the story.

KITCHEN GIGGLES

Dudette picked up some new pans the other day. They are smaller than regular pans. Made more for 1 to 2 people portions.

So tonight, she was in the kitchen looking at some recipes, and CK came home from work.

PACKAGING NOTES?

I seem to find some of the strangest stuff.

Dudette picked up a package of "15 BEAN SOUP" the other day. It is nothing more than a bag of beans. With all the different diets going on, I tend to, (out of boredom) read the package labels. Just the masochist in me I guess.

The label says, "CONTAINS 15 OF THESE VARIETIES". Now I'm thinking, "shouldn't it say, 'CONTAINS THESE 15 VARIETIES'?"

Nope.

LUCKY THE COPS GOT THERE FIRST

Read in the paper the other day about an idiot, and Big Dog Motorcycles in Wichita, Ks.

I KNOW WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE

I was reading Dear Blabby the other day and the writer asked for a potential cure for a problem (big surprise).

This ladies in-laws would stop by, unannounced, and just walk right in to house. No phone call. No previous planned time. Nothing. Just show up and walk in.

The question was, "how do I get them to stop this?"
