Isn't it interesting the effort that's put into a job when you either own the company or have a position in management? Is it possible to give the people on the line MORE responsibility; something that allows them to measure the results of their personal accomplishments?

The people on your line are exhibiting what I think of as "union" mentality. We will all have exactly the same experience, and work exactly the same number of minutes, and have exactly the same number of minutes for breaks. Are you working in a union shop?

Yes, but it is not "union mentality" per se. It is more the lack of understanding that they have to WORK for a living. The whiny, "they don't have to DO as much as I do," belief that "you" are being picked on.
I may have to do a post on this to do it justice.
