Broad at Bat had a couple of posts that need to be shared. Both brought tears to my eyes, but for different reasons.
This one was about John Ritter and his passing. I think John Ritter was a fantastic actor as well. A lot of people thought he was only a buffoon on some of the more popular shows he was in, and didn't think much of him. I've seen him in, not so popular, programs, movies, television specials and so on, and have seen sides of him a lot of people never really saw. He was so versatile.
He could do comedy with a subtlety that made it funny by the sheer drollness of it, think British comedy, Monty Python style. Or he could play it so large as to make it outrageous, think Three Stooges. And surprisingly, he could do drama with the same subtlety or outrageousness. He liked to stretch his abilities though he seemed to only be know for his buffoonery.
Tears of saddness. He will be missed.
The other post was from Monday. The event was a family gathering of sorts. I laughed so hard it hurt.
I read the Monday post last, but tears still rolled.
