STORY IDEA "STORY #2" READY TO START

I am about ready to start on Story #2. I have already received a few snippets.

Now, I am also asking for suggestions on what genre you want to see this one set in.

So far the vote has been for Science Fiction. Let me know, and the most votes gets it.

AND, DON'T forget to send thoughts and ideas. I think a few people were surprised that I could pull so much into the mix and make it work. (So was I). It was challanging.

I'LL GET THERE

I know, I've been, well, not here. Been busy since putting the story up. But I will be posting more, promise.

Spent a major portion of today running aroound looking for materials to help easy the pain and confusion of the festivals Dudette and I work.

Have you ever tried to chase down a dozen older style walky talkies because they use the same fequencies as the existing sets currently owned? It ain't fun. But I got it done.

Got a lot of other stuff out of the way also, so it was a pretty productive day.

Tomorrow, I get to program all the "talkies", after I pick up the final 'one', along with all the headsets.

STORY IDEA "STORY"

OK! Part 2 of the "Story Idea" will continue where we left off on the other day. I will be trying to incorporate as many of the ideas given so far and still come up with a reasonable story line. LOL, life should be so good.

You decide.

AS mentioned before, if anyone has an objection to their "name" being used, speak now before it gets too complicated to change things.

This is rather lengthy so bear with it. As soon as I get it dressed up and complete, I will be e-mailing it to all the people that graciously contributed. Credits will be included in the e-mailed version with tags footnoting who helped where.

I'm ready for a new batch of ideas, so start e-mailing them to me.

If anyone has a preference towards the genre the next one should be in, send in those suggestions also.

STORY COMMENTS

So far, the comments on STORY IDEAS have been something of an experience. I have been trying to incorporate as many as possible and from (I thought) was going to be a simple daily post, it is taking on a life of its own. It didn't help much that I fell behind almost immediately, due to a variety of reasons.

What I have in the works as of this moment, is a fairly lengthy story line. I do hope to have it hammered out into something worth posting either later tonight or tomorrow. Not all ideas will be included, but the left overs will be the start of the "Second Story". I hope everyone will keep sending in the, ("Stump the Fool Behind the Keyboard"), Story ideas.

It is a bit of a challange to figure out how to interlace as many different elements together. I hope the final result is an enjoyable bit of writing, though it may not be light and airy.

SOMETIMES YA JUST GOTTA

It's not often I run across something just has to be shared like this post found through Acidman , who found it through Straight White Guy .

It concerns underwear and bodily functions. A word of warning, the post is typical male humor on a subject, so be prepared. It is crude, and may be offensive to some, but it is funny.

A local store, ( I won't name the guilty), is advertising a "RE-GRAND OPENING".

Now, wtf is a RE-GRAND opening?

A GRAND RE-OPENING I can understand. Oh well.

NEW MATH

Listening to a commercial on the way home today, they were advertising a sport's fund raising dinner. For a fee, you could sit with different atheletes and enjoy a speech and dinner. Sounded good so far.

Now, for the honor of this, it would cost you (get ready for this), "$150 per person, or, for "four team members", the cost was only $600."

Gee, 4 times $150 = $600. OK. So where is the discount?

Maybe for the jocks, this sounds like a killer deal.

"Hey, Bruno. If you go stag, it's $150. But, if FOUR of us go, it's only $600 total. Pretty good price, HUH?"

TIRED

I haven't been doing much posting the last couple days because I've been busy and tired. This last weekend threw me out of whack for some reason, (which is strange because I'm almost never out of "whack". I buy the family size containers from Sam's.)

As I said earlier, if anyone wants the names changed on the first "story idea" post , let me know and I will. Otherwise, I am going to use that as the springboard for the first story line. Now, if I could get a few more ideas, it would help.

Though, I will have to admit, Buffy and Billy are both going to test my abilities to make up facts as I go, to cover their last few ideas. But, I think I might be able to pull it off, though it might end up a little cheesy sounding when I get done.

We'll see. Now I'm off to bed. Nite.

STORY IDEA

OK, gang. This wasn't a homework assignment. All I was trying to get across is the thoughts involed in a story. It doesn't have to be a whole plot, theme or setting. Just snippets. Thoughts, if you will.

EXAMPLE:

Gennie said, "OK, hand over the bong man."

Let's say billy says, "he was making tea and crumpets when the doorbell rang." billy also mentioned being electrocuted by an alarm system and getting squashed by a BIG FOOT.

Bogie talked about being on third shift and having a computer that blew up. So I'll use that.

Buffy mentions having a rough month coming up and nagging.

OK, let's put these elements into a quick story opening.

KC WINEFEST IS OVER

The K.C. Winefest is over. It was actually held in Overland Park. Proceeds went to The American Heart Assoc.

Dudette and I drove up Saturday to get into town and help with anything that could be done the night before the fest. On the drive up there, we were kept company by a whole array of vintage cars. Some tricked out and modified, like the open end coupes with all the chrome on the engines and exhaust pipes showing. Others were restored to their original glory as if they had just rolled off the assembly lines. More than a few were chopped and channeled, stretched and narrowed, and all sorts of exotic changes to their carriages and bodies. Only the owners know what kind of modifications went on to their engines, trannies, and so forth.

It was a car show parade all the way up. And it didn't stop there. One of the hotel staff said there was an annual car convention in town that wasn't JUST for the trailer brought, "it's only for show, we don't drive it" types. Yeah, some were trailered, but the majority of them were on the loose and on the roads. If you love old and custom cars, you missed one hell of a road show. I spotted license plates from the four corners of the U.S.
