Here at Castle Wichi, we are having the local group over for the festivities.  That would be CK, Chew, CC, and HH.  Bogie and WS are doing their own thing, far away.  And I hope they are doing it right.

MEATLOAF DINNER

Dudette picked up some ground beef for meatloaf the other day.  Normally I make the meatloaf.  Not that she can't, mind you.

CHRISTMAS PARTY

Friends of ours held their annual Christmas party this past weekend.  (ever wonder why they call it an annual party?  when it can only happen once a year.  Like, we have one in July just to mess folk up.  Right?)

Anyway, it was a blast.  Bunches of people showed up and there was good times and fun by all.  The coolest part was the gift exchange.  White elephant style.

HOME MADE BAGELS

I will post the recipe for the cake later.  In the meantime, I have to mention Dudette found a recipe for making bagels.  It all started because I picked up a bagel at the grocery store yesterday.  A "Gourmet" bagel.

Names can be misleading.  The bagel was nasty.  More like a bread cake.

So, she found a recipe.  And, she made bagels.  Not too bad.  She is still going to play with the recipe a bit.  The crust on the bagels come out very hard and crunchy.  But they were good.

Cooking happens.

GOOD CAKE

The cake Dudette made was pretty good.  Good enough, we invited CK and Chew over to help us eat it.

They came over and we had cake, worked some puzzles in the newspaper, listened to some music and watched some TV.  Nice relaxing evening.

And the Vanille Royale, very yummy in coffee.

Nice nights happen.
