We've test driven it a couple times since it was set up earlier this week. And...
we are loving it. Not only is it quieter than the old one, but it is WAY faster at drying stuff. Could be the old one just wasn't doing the job, or the seals were just so worn out they allowed enough air to leak through it wasn't drying properly.
It is a bit weird though to have an appliance adjust itself for the job. In the automatic modes, it evaluates the dampness of the articles inside and modifies the "time to dry" accordingly. I've set the thing, had the display read 49 minutes, walk by 5 minutes later and the timer was down to 26 minutes remaining. I thought it was broken. 26 minutes later, it buzzed and the clothes were dry. Neat!
Also, with the old dryer, the washer would finish before it (most times). So when the dryer buzzed (if things were dry...not always) we swapped loads. Now, the dryer buzzes, we handle the clothes in it, and wait for the washer to finish.
I'm guessing here, but I think this critter is going to cut our drying costs (and time)a bunch. I could get used to this.
Upgrading happens.
Sounds FANTASTIC! I'm going to have to catch up with the blog to find out more about this dryer. I need to replace mine, so I'm doubly interested!
