SO, I WAS A BIT SLOW
I called the roofing guy today to set up having him look at the roof. He was out, so I left a voice mail for him to call back. While waiting, I went out back to see if I could find where the shingles were loose and flapping (yeah, another windy day).
The wind was from the wrong direction and not catching the shingles right. But I could see where the edges of a bunch were raised up a bit. I'm guessing that would be the prime suspect areas.
While out there though, a red-winged blackbird kept flitting back and forth between the two trees, scolding me like nobodies business. He was doing it this weekend while I was mowing the lawn as well. I didn't give it much thought till today. He was REALLY giving me a piece of his mind.
Then curiosity got me. I looked up and sure enough, at the top of one of the trees was a nest. I was disturbing his neighborhood. So I left.
Probably calling me a home-wrecker and telling me what he was going to do to me and the horse I rode in on.
Scoldings happen.
Better watch out - he probably has a big load of birdie doo-doo he's keeping just for you!

That thought has crossed my mind. And I hope that is all that crosses my mind out there.
